Individual Details
Thomas N. Woods
(1840 - 1913)
A death record - no image - on FamilySearch says his parents were stated as Dudley Woods, and Fannie Perkins. No Fannie Perkins had married a Foster in the years prior to Fannie Foster's marriage to Dudley Wood and - in fact there is no bride named Fannie Perkins in the Madison Co records. Likely just one of those mistakes in a death record - information given by someone who really didn't know. Two of his sisters married men named Perkins.
Kentucky Death Certificate #27730
Thomas N. woods, died at Cornishville, Mercer Co, KY on 4 Oct 1913 of cancer of the stomach. He was married, a farmer. The DC states he was born 1 Oct 1831 in Madison Co, and was 72 years and three months at death. His parents given as Dudley Wood, born Madison Co KY and Fannie Perkins, born in the same place. Jesse Woods of High Bridge KY was the informant. Buried on Oct 5th, Perkins Cemetery.
NOTE: His date of birth is wrong - he was born about 1840 - age 10 in the 1850 census. His oldest brother John was born in 1831. His mother was plainly Fanny Foster on her marriage record. Pleasant Perkins was bondsman for the marriage but did not give permission as he did some years later for his own daughters.
