Sheriff Jerry Ray Combs age 61, the current Madison County Sheriff was found in his parents back yard unresponsive, was taken to the Saint Joseph Hospital in Berea where he was declared dead at 9:23 pm on Monday 20 May, 2013. He was retired as Assistant Chief of the Berea Police Department, a few years latter he ran for and was elected as Sheriff of Madison County, and took office in January 2011. He was Born the Son of Elvin and Betty Usher Combs on June 10, 1951 in Berea, Madison County, Kentucky, he attended Silver Creek Elementary and Madison Central High School. he is survived by both his parents and his Twin Brother Larry Combs and his wife Tracy Lynn Brown Combs.
