Cloves W. Burleson (Lucy H), at residence 5301 Ct. P
J. W. Howell married C. W. Burlason and Lucy Howell, 10 Aug 1893. On July 31st James W. Howell had sent to Judge J. P. Ford, "Dear Sir & friend, You are hereby authorized to issue a marriage License for my Daughter Lucy to marry Clovus Burlason". Bond was signed on 3 Aug 1893 by C. W. Burlason and J. W. Howell.

There seems to have been at least two William C. Burlesons that served in the Civil War from Alabama. The stone for this William at Zion Cemetery, Winfield, Marion Co, AL states this William served as a Private in Company K, 5th AL Cavalry, CSA
Sarah Eliz. Burleson of Marion Co AL, drew a pension for Wm C. Burleson who served in Company K, 10th AL Cavalry. She was born 18 Jun 1840, Edgefield, SC. Pension was awarded as of 15 Aug 1904. She stated her husband died 12 May 1904.

Another William C. Burleson said to have served as a Private in Company F, Alabama 2nd Light Artillery Battalion. There is an application from Mrs. Thomas Murphree of Holliday, TX, on 27 Oct 1953, stating she was a daughter of William Curtis Burleson. Date of birth was the same as this William - 11 Sep 1833. She stated he died 24 Mar 1896. She said that Mrs. Burleson had drawn a pension. The stone to be set Sardis Cemetery, Jewett, Leon Co, TX.

William Curtis Burlison "Painter Bill" Pvt. Enlisted on September 13, 1861. Shortly after transferred to Company F, 2nd Battalion, Alabama Light artillery on January 22, 1862.
Died March 25, 1896 in Limestone County, Texas and was buried in Sardis Cemetery near Jewett, Texas. Pension applied for by his widow S. J. Burlison in Johnson County, Texas in 1931.

Died of cerebral arteriosclerosis 12 Oct 1958 at his home near Hermleigh, Scurry Co, TX where he had lived for 18 years. He was born 5 Feb 1877 in Guin, Alabama; married, a retired farmer. His father was William C. Burleson; his mother Martha Wilson. Informant was Travis Burleson. buried Lone Wolf Cemetery, 5 miles south of Hermleigh on Oct 14th.
