"James Ramey b 1780 d 1848 came from Clark Co KY to Howard Co Mo. He settled in what was later Pettis Co in 1822. His wife was Elizabeth Kindred, dau of William. their children were:

Daniel b 1813 mar. Jane Harris
David Stout b 1818 mar. Eliza G. RICE

James Ramey married second Eliza about 1840 and had one son
Thomas W. b ca 1843 Note: I find no 1850 census to support this theory - a Thomas Ramey was living in Lafayette Co MO, age 7 with the Elsea family and there is present an Eliza H. Elsea, age 29 - much younger than Eliza Ramey is said to have been.

Stone is worn smooth, dates unreadable. Marriage record for 16 May 1803 at Boonesboro, Madison, KY to Elizabeth Jean Kindred. Also a Marriage record for 7 Jun 1815 in Shenandoah, VA to Elizabeth Jean Kindred.

James Ramey was commissioned an officer in the War of 1812. In 1820 he and Elizabeth moved to Howard CO, MO. The next year sold a tract of land in KY, inherited from his father. In 1822 they moved to Pettis CO, which was then a part of Saline CO, MO. In 1826 they moved to Saline CO, MO. On January 26, 1823, Pettis CO was formed, including the part of Saline county belonging to the Rameys.
James Ramey was a Judge, he had a Grist and Saw mill along Muddy Creek in the northeast part of Pettis County, Missouri, about eight miles from the town of Sedalia.

Eliza was the 2nd wife of Judge James Ramey of Pettis county, and the mother of John W Ramey. Note: John W. Ramey who was born in 1813 was not the son of the second wife!
