John Scott Pickle

He could be related to the same Pickle as I am - FamilySearch had his parents as David Pickle and Mary "Polly" Porter, married 14 Nov 1831 in Wythe Co, VA. It was her second marriage. But then the lineage is erroneous as David has been placed as a son of a Jacob who was not born until 1857 - an impossible connection. A Jacob Bickel apparently married Susannah Loucks and lived in Wyeth Co VA - but they had no son named David.
David Pickle is head of household, Wythe, VA, 1840 - and still there in the censuses through 1870. In 1880 he was in the household of J. R. Porter, Williamson Co, TN, age 81, widower, born Virginia and noted as father-in-law. His father born in England (which if true, means he does NOT come from the Pickels of Hunterdon, NJ).
