DEATH AND FUNERAL OF T. C. WOOTEN, A SENIOR MEMBER BAR
End Came sunday Night. Prominently Related - Licensed to Practice Law Many Years Ago - Was in Poor Health
The funeral of Thomas Christian Wooten, 62 years of age, was held Monday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock. ...Mr. Wooten's death occurred sunday night at 9 o'clock following a brief illness, though he had not been in the best of health for several years.
....Mr. Wooten was born at Elm Grove, a few miles south of here, in 1860. He was educated in the schools here and at the University of North Carolina. He was licensed to the bar in 1883. He practiced at Snow Hill ans here. He was a son of the late John F. Wooten, of Kinston, and Mary Adams Christian, who was a member of a prominent family in Virginia. He married Miss Mary Moore of Snow Hill, and after her death, Mrs. Julia Holderness Dixon, of Caswell County, now dead.
...Mr. Wooten is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Bessie Saunders; one sister, Mrs. W. O. Moseley, and the following brothers and half brothers; Dal F., Lloyd and Frank Wooten of Kinston, and Beverly Wooten, of Fort Barnwell.


Lenoir Co, NC, Superior Court. Mrs. Bessie W. Sanders states that T. C. Woodten is dead, leaving no will and she is entitled to Letters of Administration. Filed 19 Jun 1922. She was appointed and bond set at $1000. J. Wooten Moseby and K. F. Foscue, her securities
