An Old Pioneer Gone
David Linville, an old and highly repected citizen, died on the morning of the 13th at his residence three miles west of Richmond. Mr. Linville was one of the early settlers of Missouri. He came to North Missouri in 1816 and first lived in the Sugar Tree bottom, now a part of Carroll county. He lived there but a short time and removed to Ray County. He was one of the surveying party that made the government survey of lands in Ray and Caldwell counties. He lived an exemplary life, beloved and respected by all who knew him, and passed away at the ripe age of 80 years to prospect the World beyond, which for him had no terrors.
