She had suffered a Stroke 3 weeks ago. Burial was in Clanton City Cemetery. She is survived by 3 Sons, Alfie, Johnnie, and Emmett Popwell, 6 Daughters, Mrs. Emma Teel, Mrs. Butler Lowe, Mrs. Rube Miller, Mrs. John Henley, Mrs. Coke Sharbutt, Mrs. John Farley, and Miss Lena Popwell. There is one Brother, Alfie Baker, 2 half-Brothers, Amos And Carey Baker, 2 Sisters, Mrs. Tom Mims, and Mrs. Lettie Powell. Her Husband Ruben Popwell died 15 years ago. She was a Daughter of Alfred Baker, Pioneer settler of Chilton County and the man for who this County was first named in 1868, Baker County. (Her Husband Ruben, was the Son of James and Mary Calloway Popwell. His Father and his wife's Father were half-Brothers who came from Darlington S.C., 1828.).

Know all men by these Presents: That I, Mary A Popwell of the County of Chilton and of the state of Alabama, being of sound mind and disposing memory do hereby make and declare this to be my last Will and Testament.
I hereby revoke any and all wills heretofore made by me.
It is my will the My Executrix hereinafter named pay all of my just debts as soon after my decease as may be convenient.
I hereby give, devise and bequeath to my daughter, Miss Lena Popwell, all property of every kind and description which I may own at the time of my death to have and to hold absolutely.
I hereby Nominate and Appoint my daughter, Miss Lena Popwell to be executrix of this my last Will and Testament and it is my wish that she be exempted from giving any bond as such Executrix.
In witness whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal and publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament on this the 10th day of October, 1938.
