Joshua Hoskins married Betsey Sharp about 1802, Scipio. She was born 1781, died 1849. They are both buried Cornwall Cemetery in Scipio.

2 Jul 1810 Samuel Hoskins of the Town of Scipio to Joshua Hoskins of the same place. For $600, tract in his actual possession, in Scipio, part of Lot #4 in the division of Lot #7. Begin NW corner of Lot #4 in the center of the road, chains & links to the beginning, 71 acres. Signed: Samuel Hoskins, Lydia Hoskins. Wit: William Smith, William Smith, Junr, John Groves witness to signing of Lydia Hoskins. On 4 Dec 1811, before John Groves one of the Judges of the Court of Common Pleas came Samuel Hoskins and acknowledged the deed. Lydia examined apart from her husband. Recorded 21 Dec 1811.

For $500.00, tract now in his possession being part of Lot #7 in the old township of Scipio. Begin SE corner of the farm lately owned by Samuel Hoskins of Scipio, deceased and now in possession of Joshua Hawkins, running west on the south line of said farm, one half the length of sd south line, etc. 25 acres. Signed: Leonard Hoskins. Sealed and delivered in the presence of E. Hoskins. Leonard Hoskins acknowledged the same day. Recorded 12 Aug 1826.

29 Apr 1831 To Joshua Hoskins. Horatio Hoskins, son of Samuel Hoskins deceased, late of town of Scipio, age 16 on the 11th of August last (1830) presented his petition stating he was entitled to real estate in Cayuga County and requests that Joshua Hoskins be his guardian until he reaches the age of 21. On the 20th of April, Joshua had consented. He is to render a full accounting of his guardianship. Signed: John Porter, Surrogate. At the village of Auburn.

p.81 To Irene Hoskins. Melinda Hoskins, daughter of Samuel Hoskins late of Scipio, deceased. She was 15 on the 2nd of April ,instant (1831) and chooses Irene Hoskins to be her guardian, who consented on the 20th of April. Guardianship granted until Melinda reaches the age of 21. Dated and recorded 19 Apr 1831. [Irene was her mother]
p.82 To Irene Hoskins. Irene Hoskins had presented her petition regarding David Hoskins, son of Samuel Hoskins late of Scipio, now deceased. David was twelve on the 22nd day of June last past (1830) and she requests to be his guardian. She is appointed until he reaches the age of fourteen. 19 Apr 1831. The following pages contain the same for Julia Ann, Adeline, Susan, and Charles.

Signed: Joshua Hoskins, Betsey Hoskins. Witness: Ebenezer Witter, Jun. Acknowledged by Joshua and Betsey on the same day. Betsey examined apart from her husband. Recorded 11 Apr 1835.
