His page on FindAGrave lists his birth as 1837, but that doesn't agree with earlier census records that show him as 10 years older and on his own prior to 1850. Died 11 Feb 1875, Parke Co, IN. Data came from a list of veterans buried in Florida Twp cemeteries, 1957.

Andrew married Caroline Scott, 26 Oct 1857.

Indiana Civil War Soldier Database lists his enrollment as 16 Aug 1862; he was discharged as a Sergeant on 26 Dec 1864, at a hospital in Indianapolis for Disability.
