Does Julia belong here?
She doesn't seem to appear in either the 1870 or 1880 census in Crawford County (or a neighboring county) with ANY Winford family. It isn't unusual for a child in a large family to be omitted in one census, but two stretches credibility. Yet there is a marriage for James Pendergrass to Julia Adeline Winford, 26 Nov 1885, Crawford Co, AR (which was part of the information passed along by the descendant of George Green Winford). I found the marriage in the Arkansas County Marriages database at FamilySearch. When I actually went to the image which I had not seen, this is what I found: James Pendergrass was age 27 in November of 1885 - Julia Adeline was age 17, which would give her a birth year of 1868, not 1865.

But that new birth year didn't help, she still doesn't appear in a census in 1870 & 1880.

James Pendergrass is in Crawford Co in 1880, Lees Creek Twp, Hh 26 with his widowed mother, Jane. He was apparently born in Tennessee, but two younger brothers were born in Arkansas.

Then I found in 1900, Justice Prec 6, Hunt Co, TX, Hh 383
J. A. Pendergrass, b. Oct 1858, 41, married 14 years, b. TN
Julia, wife, b. Sep 1868, 31, 4 children - 3 are living, b. Texas. Two of the children born in Arkansas, the youngest in Texas, and James Pendergrass's brother is living with them.
I looked back at the census - no Julia or Adeline Winford in Texas in 1870, either....

Julia Pendergrass, 35, widow, 6 children - 5 living, b. TX - with five children listed - the older ones match those in 1900 even though she hasn't aged appropriately. She has also given her place of birth as Texas twice.

There is a marriage in Hunt Co, TX, 12 Sep 1909 for Julia Pendergrass to George Hays. But I don't find them in 1920. The surname is surprising, since George Green Winford had married a Hays, but his wife has no kin named George that would be anywhere near this age nor in this place. Apparently just a coincidence.
