Both James Sr and James Jr are accepted as Revolutionary Patriots by the DAR. James Sr is a private on the roll of Capt William Webb's Co, militia from Harford Co, MD. This unit was never actually called to active duty. Jms Alexander is on the 1790 census in that Maryland county. James Jr. is said to have served under Capt John Reese and Col. Arthur St. Clair - a unit made up of Maryland and Pennsylvania men.
