A gift of property taken from friends of Bradford for their noncompliance with the payment of fines & taxes for the purpose of carrying on war (Except a few articles which were seized and sold but not yet taken away) which property in general being rated nearly as it would have sold before the present Confusion.

Will of David McKim, written 14 Mar 1817. David McKim, residing in the Township of West Caln, county of Chester, state of Pennsylvania. All Worldly property after funeral charge are discharged to be equally divided, share and share alike except my wife is to have all the household furniture; wife Sarah, daughter Margaret, wife of David Gilfillan, daughter Esther, wife of Alexander Carson, daughter Sarah wife of Daniel Russel, and son Joseph McKim. Executors trusty friends James Moore and William Chamberlin who entered Security when he obtained letters of administration for the estate of son David McKim, Jr.
Proven 4 Apr 1826; Registered Book P, Vol 15, p.301. Administration granted William Chamberlain, James Moore being deceased.
The will was not witnessed, but Isaac Darlington and Thomas Rusell testified that the signature was in the handwriting of David McKim.
Joseph and Jonathan Paxson did the Inventory and appraisement on 25 Apr 1826. David owned surveyor's equipment, carpenter tools, books, old saddlebgs. There was a bond on David Gilfillin a small note on James Parke, and accounts from Conrad Barr.
An accounting was made 31 Oct 1827, by Wm Chamberlin. Thomas Ross was paid $1.50 for digging the grave, There were bonds and interest on the part of the estate of David McKim, Jr. The Executor was allowed $35 compensation. It was noted that the account against Barr could not be collected.

The above will recognizes only the sons David Jr. who had died before 1817, and a son Joseph. No William or James mentioned in any of the estate papers from Chester Co PA. Daughters named were Margaret Gilfillan, Esther Carson, and Sarah Russell.
