William Reid, b. 2 Apr 1870, died 2 Sep 1891, Mount Pleasant.
William Reid had a wagon shop behind the house. He reportedly made wagons used for the California Gold Rush in 1849.
He served on the Board of Education for 43 years and supervised the 1867 first high school construction. He was instrumental in allowing admission of black students.
Reid served as Justice of Peace and housed his office in his home with a separate door on the right front side.
