21 Feb 1805 Thomas Honie sold William Elliott 100 acres on the North fork of Big Creek of the Saluda River, part of a tract granted James Hamilton by Wm. Moultrie 13 Mar 1792. Signed: Thomas Honey. Wit: William Slaton, Aaron Wellborn. Elizabeth Honey, wife of Thomas, released dower to James Wellborn, Q.U. on 21 Feb 1805. William Slaton made oath to James Wellborn, 21 Feb 1805. Rec. 6 Apr 1805.


James left South Carolina in 1812 and started moving "west" towards Kentucky and eventually Missouri.

His son William, born 1798, remained behind and married Nancy Waddell.

On November 23,1816, in Anderson Co., NC, James Welborn, Jr. sold land to Aaron Welborn from Kentucky. James, Jr. lived in Kentucky before moving to Missouri in 1818.
