Estate Administrators, 5 Sep 1831, Jacob Martin, William Martin, Ezekiel Murphy, bound unto John Harris, Ord. for $10,000. Citation published at the Big Creek Meeting House. There was a widow and nine children, names not given.
Notes were due the Estate from Abraham Martin, Edman Martin, John Harris, John Towns, Ezekiel Murphy and Anderson Crains.
Sale was held 18 Nov 1831. The buyers included Wilburn Duckworth, William Martin, James Martin, the Widow Martin, Ezekiel Murphy, Bejamin Duckworth, Abram Martin Senr, Abraham Martin Jr., Moses Welborne.

The Martins gravestones are pictured on FindAGrave. They are buried Big Creek Cemetery in Anderson Co. SC. I do not believe these are the original grave markers - they look much too new. A footstone reads "Pioneer settlers who came from Virginia to South Carolina about 1790." And I believe they have the wrong maiden name for Hester.

Thomas Martin and wife Hester Roundtree, left Martinsville, VA in 1779 with several young children....Martin offered $2.50 to any of the children that could make the whole journey without crying, but none did. The family settled in what is now called Williamston township, a mile or two east of Piercetown. Big Creek Church was their place of worship. Son William, later gave the site for the Beaver Dam Baptist Church. [children and their spouses are listed]
