Hezekiah Rice

(5 Feb 1764 - 16 Jan 1860)

Seen as Hezekiah Benjamin Rice but doubtful that he had a middle name - none of his siblings did. He moved to Pendleton District, SC

Database gives his wife as Polly Leftwich. They are said to have married 5 Apr 1787, Bedford Co VA - a location which seems somewhat unlikely - another source says Anderson SC, which did not exist at the time of their marriage.

There is a Dempsey Rice son of Hezekiah's brother, who lived in Georgia, and some of the family did move to Georgia. There seems to have been a migration of sorts to Abbeville with several allied families moving including Kimbrough, Benton, Burton etc. I will do some more research and se what I can find. Mark M.
