Before marrying Edmund Wilson, 5 Apr 1563 in Dedham, Marion was the widow of Thomas Smythe of Dedham. Her maiden name is unknown. Smythe's will, dated 12 Apr 1652, was proved 2 Jun 1563, naming wife Marion and sons Thomas and James. She is probably the Mrs. Sherman buried at St. James, Colchester on 4 Aug 1584.
