Jacob Morris
(28 Dec 1755 - 10 Jan 1844)
In 1775, Jacob was made a major in the NY State Militia - he was aide-de-camp to General Charles Lee and General Nathaniel Greene. He settled on the family property on Butternut Creek in Ostego County - eventually the farm totalled more than 11,000 acres. Jacob sat in the State Assembley for Ostego in 1792, 1795, 1796, and in the Senate from 1798-1800.
Jacob and Mary Cox had 12 children. There was one son by his second wife Sophia Pringle.
