William Cooper
(2 Dec 1754 - 22 Dec 1809)
Cooper moved from Burlington, New Jersey to the virgin wilderness around Lake Otsego in New York about 1790, where he built the community of Cooperston. Son Isaac said to be about 9 years old at the time, James Fenimore, future novelist, was about a year old. There were numerous other children.
