Betsy married John Crabtree in 1810, Halifax Co, VA

It is my belief that Betsy does not belong here.
The marriage has been transcribed with the additional information that a parent of the bride was "Celey" Poindexter. If this lady is truly the daughter of the elder Bond Veale Poindexter, this is most peculiar. By 1810, her father and stepmother were apparently in Tennessee, not North Carolina - her father apparently still living and her mother Susanna, deceased.
There were other Poindexters in Halifax Co at this time, including Chapman Poindexter, born circa 1760 and possibly some of his brothers. Chapman was living in 1810, and not married to a Celey so Betsy wasn't his daughter either - but she could have been the daughter of one of his brothers. There is also the problem that the transcription of the Halifax marriages was done ca 1937 and I have found errors, particularly in deciphering names - apparently there was some doubt on the part of the transcriber since in most cases "father" or "mother" was stated, not the generic "parent". I would be interested in seeing the original.
