Individual Details
Henry T. Brown
(1795 - Abt 1864)
This story from Reflections has errors - it seems to have thoroughly mixed the information of father and son, both named Henry T. but I believe I sorted them out.
Henry (jr) was born in Kentucky and came to Linn Co MO from Howard Co with his father, also a Henry Brown, about 1837. He (probably the father) put up the first horse powered grist mill in Benton Township and build the first brick house in the county in 1846.
Children by Henry T., Sr.'s first marriage, no wife name, were John, who had no children, Washington who had three girls, Thomas who had seven children, Henry T. Jr who had three sons and three daughters, Marie who married Alex Purdin and had two daughter, and Susan who maried Mark Arnold.
Children by his second marriage [to Emmeline Prewitt, 6 Nov 1855], were David who married America Ellen Reynolds, William H., and Nannie whose married name was Hartshorn.
FindaGrave Memorial# 92882243 for Henry T. Brown states his birth and death are unknown, but said to be buried Brown Cemetery, Linn, MO. The censuses indicate he was born about 1795 in Virginia - online databases give a date of death as about 1864.
