Individual Details
William LAWRENCE
( - )
William was given sheep in his father's will; in 1654 he received a deed of gift from stepfather John Freme to be shared equally with his brothers Arthur and James. This was 300 acres of land on Flowerdew Hundred Creek, granted to Freme in 1643. William sold this 300 acres on 3 Apr 1663. He had received his brother Arthur's share upon Arthur's death by primogeniture as the eldest brother. He had apparently also received brother James' share or was acting on his behalf.. This land was located in Weynoke on the South [?] side of James River.
20 Oct 1665. William & James Lawrence received a patent for 95 acres in Charles City County at the lower end of Weynock, next to Wm. Clayes on the North side of the James. Begin at stake by Persimon Island Swamp & running N by W to Kittawan Crek, PB 5, p.462.
