Individual Details
John Thomas Perkins
(3 May 1861 - 8 Nov 1928)
John's first young sweetheart burned to death in her home just before they were to be married; he stayed a bachelor for many years.
1900 Census. Owen Twp, Kay Co. OK, Hh 176
John T. Perkins, b. May 1862, age 38, b. MO, father b. KY, mother b. TN
In 1900, I also found in Missouri, Chariton Twp, Macon Co, a John T. Perkins, born May 1861 in Missouri, parents born in Missouri, a coal miner. He was a widower with two daughters and must be a different man.
1910 Census. Owens Twp, Kay Co, OK, Hh 20
John T. Perkins, age 46, married 1 time for six years, b. MO
Amy R., wife, age 31, 1 child, b. Kansas

Cary Aitkens, hired man, age 35, b. Ohio, parents b. Ireland
___[surname unreadable, Ojide, Azide??] Ethel, servant, age 18, b. MO, parents b. MO
1920 Census. Owen Twp, Kay County, OK, Hh 87
John T. Perkins, age 58, b. MO, father b. KY, mother b. TN, farmer

It seems unlikely to me that John T. Perkins died in Buchanan Co, MO as I had first been told. In 1930, his widow was still living in Oklahoma. He also has no death certificate in Missouri.
1930 Census. Owen Twp, Kay Co, OK, Hh 354
Amy R. Perkins, age 51, marked M for married, she married at age 24, b. Kansas, parents b. Ohio
M. Donald, son, age 19, b. OK
And in fact he is buried, Tonkawa IOOF Cemetery, Kay Co, OK, as is Amy.
