NANCY LOUISE (FRY) DAMON Nancy Louise (Fry) Damon, a longtime resident of Granite Bay, died peacefully in her sleep on the morning of March 14th, 2017 at the age of 80. Born in Yuba City, CA, on May 25th 1936, her family moved 8 times while she was in elementary school and eventually settled in Oroville, CA. There she met her future husband, Gary G Damon, where they were "sweethearts" since high school. She graduated from Oroville Union High School in 1953 and studied at California State University, Chico ('53 '56) to become a teacher. She and Gary were married on April 14th, 1957 (Palm Sunday) so that they could take advantage of Easter break for a honeymoon. She worked as a teacher's aide and substitute teacher for over 20 years, ultimately going back to school to receive her BA and permanent teaching certificate in the late 1980's. Survived by her son Tony Damon and wife Beth Fisher of Lafayette, CA, daughter Lori (Damon) Everett and husband Chuck Everett of North Highlands, sister Carolyn Wolfe of Puyallup, WA., brother Bob Fry of Antelope, CA. Grandmother ("Nana") to Joel Everett, Zoe Damon, and Derek Damon. Loving aunt, grand-aunt, and great-aunt to many nieces and nephews and their children. Proceeded in death by her first child Melinda Gayle Damon (childbirth), father Edwin Allen Fry, and mother Dorothy Bond Fry and husband Gary. She loved to be involved and volunteer her time, whether it was at her kid's school, church, or driving cancer patients to their appointments. She always had a fun craft or game planned for the kids at family events. She cooked countless delicious meals for her family and her cioppino parties were not to be missed. She and Gary were Kings and 49ers season ticket holders and they rode the Sacramento 49ers booster's bus with several other close friends for many years. She was an accomplished piano layer and loved to sing in her church choir. More than anything she was a devoted and loving daughter, sister, mother, wife, aunt, grandmother, and trusted friend to many people. She will be greatly missed by all. Private family burial. Friends and family are invited to a celebration of her life at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 6365 Douglas Blvd., Granite Bay, CA, on Sunday, June 25th at 3pm.
