Mrs. Daniel (Emma) Atherton, 98, of Lanark, died last Friday morning, October 25, 1957 in a Warren nursing home. Born February 3, 1859 in Carroll County, daughter of William and Elizabeth (Jackson) Jacobs, she married Dan Atherton, who died in 1951.
She is survived by two sons, John of Lanark and Robert of Galena; and three daughters, Mrs. Ena Wentz of Chicago, Mrs. Cora Anderson of Loves Park, and Mrs. James (Lillian) Garner of Lanark.
