Margaret "Peggy" Stribling

Her mother must have been fond of my grandmother because in her will she stated: "My wish is after all my just debts is paid that Claricy Holderness wife of James Holderness shall have the hole of the remainder of my Estate that is not Disposed of by my Last Will and Testament." She had come to Henry Co, GA with James & Clarissa.
In a Henry co deed in 1833 Margaret "for love and regard for my grandson SAMUEL HOLDERNESS (my great grandfather), I give and bequeth to said Samuel, a certain black filly now two years old."

About 1825 Margaret Welborn moved with Clarissa & James Holderness and her unmarried daughter Dorothy to Towaliga Creek, Henry County GA, where she later died. Four daughters are proven by her will, Henry Co GA Will Book A, p.198-199, dated 16 Aug 1831 and proved 6 May 1833. She died after the above deed to grandson Samuel which was dated 8 Jan 1833.

In her will, Margaret Stribling Wilborn, states "I give and bequeath unto my Grand Children, the son and daughter of Clarisa Holiness, viz Mariann Holderness, McKinny Holderness, Samuel Holderness and Martha Holderness two negros viz a negro man by the name of Robin and a negro girl by the name of Betty. Also I give unto my daughter Clarisa Holderness five dollars in money."
