Received land patent in Goochland Co VA 8 Sep 1730, for 400 acres on North side James River, branches of LickingHole Creek adj Henry Atkinson, Philip Hoggatt & Joseph Scott. [CAVALIERS, Vol III, p.394]. 300 acres of this tract was deeded to Francis Kearby of Hanover on 16 Feb 1742; location was on the North side of the James River, on Lickinghole Creek. [GOOCHLAND DB 4, p.124] The other 100 acres was sold to William Parrish on the same date. [DB 4, p.131] Elizabeth Kearby his wife relinquished her dower rights in this property. Kearrby bought 300 acres from Abraham Whitworth on Rockfish River 14 Feb 1743. [GOOCHLAND DB 4, p.384] 100 acres of Whitworth's tract was given to James Golsbey and his wife Betty on 20 Aug 1744 as a gift; land to descend to the eldest child of Betty or revert back to Kearby or his heirs. [DB 4, p.406] Wife Elizabeth not mentioned.

By 1749, he was in Lunenburg Co, present Halifax Co. Last mentioned in the records of the South River MM of the Quakers 21 Apr 1759.
