Jost Hite and Mary Magdalena had a marriage contract made 10 Nov 1741. She stated she was the relict and widow of Christian Nuschanger. "Just Heite" promised her that his house whould be home or widow's seat so long as she lived, and the heir to the house would provide her with necessary food and clothing, or provide funds for her to live in another place. Maria stated that she was bringing some articles, cattle, money, household items, and that Jost Hite was to have half if she died, the other half to be delivered back again to her heirs. Jost Hite and Mary Magdalena both signed. Witnesses were John, Jacob, Isaac and Joseph Hite, and Jacob Nisswanger. Her itemization: £22.17.4; two mares, one colt; two steers; coarse bed clothes; one other horse mare. Witnessed by Peter & Lewis Stephens, Jacob Niswanger.
