According to MEN WHOM I REMEMER, LOGAN COUNTY, KY, by George D. Blakey, Oliver Caldwell had come from Ireland about the middle 1700's and settled in Greenbrier Co VA; he joined the westward migration, first to Tennessee, then Hardin Co Co and about 1795 arriving in Logan Co KY, settling in the area that became Butler county. On a post on the Caldwell Forum on GenForum is a description of a family Bible belonging to Oliver's son Andrew. It states that Oliver first married a cousin, Ann Caldwell, and had two sons, Josph & John. He married a much younger Isabella Cook and had George W., David, Andrew, Daniel Cook, and Nancy who died as a child. This post states that Oliver died in TN and Isabella continued on to Kentucky with her children.
