In 1837, Samuel patented 77.37 acres, the W 1/2 of the SW 1/4, Section 18, Twp 2N, Range 1W. Other patents in 1837 were to Manlove Horney. By 1840, both Jonathan and Leonidas Horny had patented land in Schuyler Co.
