History of Linn County, 1882, page 647. "This cemetery was laid out by Stephen S. McCollum on the old McCollum homestead, (southwest quarter of the northeast quarter, section seven, township fifty-eight, range eighteen). The first interment was that of the body of Sarah Jane McCollum, November 17, 1840. It is still used by the family as a burying ground."
