Individual Details

Oliver Joseph SHAMPO

(16 Sep 1893 - 14 Sep 1947)

Twin to David

Oliver had a crippled right hand, with the index finger and part of the thumb amputated. This fact is mentioned on both of his draft registration cards (WWI and WWII). There is some small doubt as to whether the 1930 census record cited here actually refers to this same Oliver J. Shampo (see note there), but this reference to the amputated fingers provides a conclusive link from Oliver, the son of Oliver and Sophia, to Oliver Champeau, the husband of Iva.
