Timothy Hopkins: "He was a sentinel in Capt. Israel Williams' Co., from 17 Mar, 1756, to 23 Jan., 1757, part of the time stationed with the detachment in Charlemont, Mass., part of the time scouting westward; enlisted in the revolutionary army about 1755; res. in Amherst and Hadley. He and his wife were received into full communion in the church in Amherst, 6 Mar., 1760."
