Victor was reported to be 70 years old, and working as a farmer. Although he is listed as married, he seems to have been separated from his wife. He was born in Belgium, and immigrated to this country in 1856. He became a naturalized citizen in 1894.http://interactive.ancestry.com/6061/4300160_00066?backurl=http%3a%2f%2fsearch.ancestry.com%2fsearch%2fdb.aspx%3fdbid%3d6061%26path%3d&ssrc=&backlabel=ReturnBrowsing#?imageId=4300160_00068
Death
The death record in "Idaho, Death Index, 1890-1962" is abbit confusing, because it gives the father as John Benoe and the mother as Ellen Heshan. Ellen was the first Victor Benoe's wife, not his mother. I considered whether the record might refer to the second Victor Benoe, the son of Victor Benoe and Ellen Hishon, but this does not work as the second Victor died in Oregon in 1956. The record apparently is correct about this Victor's father, but mistakenly records the wife as the mother.Endnotes
