"Tom was a newspaper reporter and cameraman in Green Bay and Marinette, Wisconsin. . . . The family moved to Connecticut when Tom accepted a position in the Insurance Company in the Insurance Division of the Knights of Columbus. He retired in 1975, and he and Dorothy returned to Wisconsin."

Marriage
From the marriage announcement copied on p. 116 of Reunion: A Beno-Champeau Genealogy (Defnet and Lutomski): Tom's father, Thomas O. Kerrigan, died just a few days before Tom, Jr., and Dorothy's wedding day. As it was one of the father's last wishes that they go ahead with the wedding, Tom and Dorothy were indeed married at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral on 18 May 1935, the day after his dad's funeral at St Patrick's Church.Census (family)
