Emma was born in Peshtigo less than a year after the Great Fire! Her family was still living there in 1880, according to that year's census. Her father was a barber.Residence
Emma Gordon, age 27, a servant, born August 1872.This census shows Emma working as a cook at a hotel, and Edmund (recorded as Edward Lacomb) was staring there as a boarder. Is this how they met? They were married five months later.
