JARRET de VERCHÈRES. Spelling variants: JARRET, JARET, JARED. Sieur de Verchères.
March 1992 IGI -- lists his birth year as 1641; this was the usual estimate before Mme. Faribault-Beauregard's article was published.
Jetté states that François Jarret de Verchères was probably the parent of André Jarret, spouse of Marguerite Anthiaume (and my ancestor)! The standard version is that André was the half brother of François, not his son. I have wondered if André was illegitimate, but I hadn`t questioned the fact that his parents were Jean Jarret and Perrette Sermette. I need to look into this possibility more closely.
