Fille du Roi -- Reisinger & Courteau: "Marguerite JASSELIN of St-Eustache, Paris, daughter of Jean JASSELIN and Catherine GILLET, signed, then annulled a wedding contract with Robert GAUMOND 8 November 1670. Only 14 then, she was 18 when she had an illegitimate son, Jean on 23 March 1674. She accused François CHAVIGNY of fathering the child, and the Provost court at Québec ordered him to pay 200 pounds for the boy's upbringing. Mlle. JASSELIN married Mathurin LELIEVRE 31 October 1676 at Lachine. Her second marriage was to Nicolas LEMOYNE 8 January 1684 at Lachine."
