Wandalene Lorraine HINES

Wandalene L. Stout, 72, of 2761 J St. SW, died Wednesday in St. Luke's Hospital after a short illness. Services: 10 a.m. Friday, Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery . Friends may call from 5 to 8 tonight at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home and after 9 a.m. Friday at the chapel.
Survivors include a son, Larry of Ankeny; a sister, Wauneta Hysell of Pascagoula, Miss.; and a brother, Haven Hines of St. Petersburg, Fla.
Also surviving are four grandchildren.
Wandalene was born Jan. 11, 1921, in Cedar County, the daughter of Clarence and Pearl Hines. She attended country school and Tipton High School, graduating in 1938. She married Carl E. Stout on June 22, 1941, in Canton, Mo. He died in 1983. Wandalene worked at the Tipton Bakery for two years and later managed an A & P store in St. Petersburg, Fla., for three years. She was head cashier and bookkeeper for A & P in Cedar Rapids for 10 years. Wandalene later owned and operated Stout's Grocery in Nichols for 1 years. Most recently, she sold Avon for 20 years. She was active in Tops No. 105 for many years.
The Rev. Nick Longworth will officiate. A memorial fund has been established.
