His love for people and animals led to him assisting his daughter, Vicki as she wrote her thesis on pet therapy in nursing homes. Every week he would go with her to get puppies and kittens and visit with the residents as they held the pets and shared stories about pets they had owned. Larry assisted Vicki for a full semester including writing the research questions. All the residents enjoyed Larry's stories and how he obviously cared for them. Larry also helped Vicki during her employment as a social worker in a nursing home where he assisted her with their social activities. Vicki could not have succeeded at either of these accomplishments without the help of her father.
