Bernadine M. Schott, 75, New Franken, died Thursday, October 7, 2010 at a local hospital. She was born on Jan. 26, 1935 to the late Harry and Leona (Laurent) Horkman in Green Bay. On June 23, 1951 she married Richard Schott in Green Bay. After their marriage, Bernadine and Richard moved to Luxemburg, where they resided for six years. She and Richard then moved to New Franken, where they have lived since 1957. Bernadine was a full time housewife, raising her 7 children, after which she worked at Guardian Angel Nursing Home for 12 years. She loved cooking large meals for her family, especially boiled dinner and her homemade stuffing. Family was of the upmost importance to Bernadine, nothing brought her more joy in life than spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Richard; children, David (Jo Ann) Schott, Sally (Dick) Noskowiak, Marilyn LaPlant, Mary Lou (Jon) Zeutzius, Janice (Scott) Charles, Darlene (Neil) Kane, Nancy Arts; grandchildren, Shelly, Becky, Jeff, Tracy, Missy, Scott, Tim, David, Michael, Emily, Tania, Elizabeth, Nicole, Brittnay, Little John, Ashley, Adam and Austin; 11 great grandchildren; 2 sisters; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ethel Mae Linzmeier, Donna Schott, Cletus (Grace) Schott, Marcel (Eleanor) Schott, Marian (Robert) Lardinois, Joan (Richard) Bertrand, Rosalie (Edward) Kinjerski, Rosalyn VandenPlas, Lorraine (Leonard) Loberger; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers; son-in-law, Tom Widi; brothers and sisters-in-law, Hilary (Delores) Schott, Andrew Schott, Genevieve (Harry) Pigeon, Bernadette (Orville) VanLieshout, Alvin Linzmeier, Albert VandenPlas and Robert Schott.
Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. on Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. Parish wake service 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday after 9:30 a.m. at St. Kilian Catholic Church, 2508 St. Kilian Rd., until the time of service. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church with Rev. William O'Brien officiating. Entombment at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.
