Ethel Mae SCHOTT

Ethel Mae Linzmeier, 97, Luxemburg, passed away on Saturday evening, November 16, 2013 surrounded by her family. She was born on September 10, 1916 in New Franken to the late Theodore and Florence (Laundrie) Schott. Ethel was a graduate of St. Kilian Parish School. She was an active member of the 4-H club and exhibited at the Brown County and State Fair. On September 15, 1942, she married Alvin Linzmeier at St. Kilian Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on July 8, 1997. Ethel and Alvin farmed together for 55 years. She worked at Larsen Canning and retired from Algoma Hardwoods in 1982. She was a past member of St. Amand's Church, Walhain and was currently a member at St. Thomas the Apostle, Sugar Bush. Ethel loved old time music and was an avid polka dancer. She was a past member of the Happy Hoppers Club; she loved cooking, sewing and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her seven children, Rita (Jerome) Wavrunek, Luxemburg; Janie (Steven) Tomcheck, Green Bay; Susan (Gary) Strebel, Green Bay; Sharon (Terry) Tassoul, Casco; Dennis (Karen) Linzmeier, De Pere; Eileen (Bill) Pagel, Kewaunee; Lois Champeau, Luxemburg; 20 grandchildren, Roxanne (Dr. Charles) Duda, Luanne (Jeff) Kostelic, Yvonne (Lee) DeGroot, Glenn (Leah) Wavrunek, Gregg (Mary) Wavrunek, Kevin Wavrunek, Debbie (Patrick) Berg, Michael (Sandy) Strebel, Vicki Strebel (special friend, Dori Varrick), Melanie (Rick) Brown, David (Angela) Tassoul, Melissa (Troy) Laundre, Jessica (Jeremy) Belter, Jamie (Tom) Hughes, Justin Linzmeier (special friend, Liz Villars), Tyler (Katie) Pagel, Troy Pagel (fiancé, Dana Rozmenoski), Elizabeth (Daniel) Monfils, Sara Champeau (special friend, Justin Daul) and Jennifer Champeau (special friend, Brandon Roberts); 18 great-grandchildren, Abigail Duda, Robby and David Kostelic, Morganne and Phillip DeGroot, Avery Wavrunek, Madelynn Berg, Tessa and Timothy Strebel, Amanda and Alex Brown, Abigail and Kaitlyn Tassoul, Mason Tassoul, Jackson Laundre, Jadeyn and Brooklyn Belter, Brady Pagel; and three expected great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren, Jordan and Bryce Berg; brothers, Richard Schott, New Franken; Cletus (Grace) Schott, Green Bay; Marcel (Eleanor) Schott, New Franken; sisters, Marian (Robert) Lardinois, Green Bay; Joan (Richard) Bertrand, Luxemburg; Rosalie (Edward) Kinjerski, New Franken; Rosalyn VandenPlas, New Franken; Lorraine (Leonard) Loberger, New Franken; sisters-in-law, Donna Schott, Green Bay, Vernalda Rott, Green Bay. Also survived by, Scott Champeau; and many other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Mary (Deterville) Linzmeier; sister, Genevieve (Harry) Pigeon, Bernadette (Orville) VanLieshout, brothers, Hilary (Delores) Schott, Robert Schott; infant brother, Andrew Schott; sisters-in-law, Bernadine Schott, Rosemarie Linzmeier, Marion (Frank) Resch, Hilaria (Lindy) LeCloux, Vivian (Louis) Pigeon; brothers-in-law, Albert VandenPlas, Silverious "Bud" Linzmeier, Robert Rott.
Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., on Tuesday (TODAY) from 4 to 8 p.m. Parish wake service 7 p.m. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the cortege leaves for church. Funeral Mass 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Kilian Catholic Church, New Franken with Rev. Ralph Merkatoris officiating. Entombment in the Shrine of the Good Shepard Mausoleum.
