Annulment
Delia's marriage to Levi Ruelle was annulled when it turned out that her first husband, Fred Tiegs, was still living. When she married Levi, she was believed to be a widow. See story, submitted to Ancestry by "1tiggersnoc" on 19 June 2013:KENOSHA WI. JULY 31, 1940
SWORN RECORD ATTEST THAT FRED TIEGS OF OCONTO WIS., IS ALIVE AND THAT HE IS NOT RECENTLY DEAD.
Mrs. Delia Gardner Tiegs Ruelle sought such assurance in her plea for the annulment of her marriage to Levi Ruelle, to whom she said she wed while believing her former spouse, Tiegs was dead. Ed Mallory, Mrs. Ruelle's attorney got the desire information in regard to the current status of Tieg's animation with two well put quests in a disposition taken before Circuit Court Commissioner John B. Chase of Oconto. "You have not been dead at any time since Delia Gardner Tiegs left you", Mallory asked. "I don't think so" Tiegs replied. "And you are still alive, are you not Mr. Tiegs?" "I'm still alive" Mr. Tiegs responded. The annulment was granted by Municipal Judge E. J. Ruetz.
