Obituary of Sarah Ruth Richardson:
Sarah Ruth Munshower Lynch, 91, of Indiana, Pa., formerly of Freeport, died Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2007, at St. Andrews Village, Indiana, Pa. She was born Jan. 14, 1916, in Rochester Mills, a daughter of the late Lindsay Earl and Sarah Elizabeth (Potts) Richardson. Mrs. Lynch lived a good part of her life in Indiana where she was a member of Shelocta Presbyterian Church. She also worked for Troutman's Department Store for a number of years. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and loved spending time with her family. She always looked forward to the annual Richardson family reunion and enjoyed hunting and fishing in Potter County with her husband and the Richardson family. Her family and friends will dearly miss her. Surviving are her daughter, Mildred "Midge" Munshower Griffith, of Indiana, Pa.; a stepson, Thomas Lynch, of Mississippi; two grandchildren, Cynthia Ruth McDermott, of Monrovia, Md., and Donald John McDermott, of Portland, N.Y.; two great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren, Julie Porter, Thomas Lynch and Doug Goughenour, all of Mississippi; two great-stepgrandchildren; two brothers, John Craig Richardson, of Elderton, and Donald R. Richardson, of Erie; one sister, Mrs. Doris M. Robertson, of Elderton; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved first husband, Robert J. Munshower, who died in April of 1963; her second husband, Thomas T. Lynch, who died in 1989; a stepgrandson; three brothers, Reuben, Edward and Blaine Richardson; and four sisters, Jane McLaughlin, Mildred Thomas, Lucille Kelley and Carolyn Hogan. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the CLARK CHAPEL of the BAUER FUNERAL HOME INC., 238 South Main St., Elderton, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Matthew Jones, of Shelocta Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will be in Elderton Cemetery.
