Francis was grown when his widowed mother married John LaLonde of Foster City, Dickinson, Michigan, where he also lived from 1906-1927. Francis was a teamster for the Morgan Lumber & Cedar Company. They family moved to Iron Mountain when he became a teamster for the VonPaten-Fox Lumber Company.(Breen Township Centennial Book: 1878-1978)
In about 1900, struggling with a large young family, John married Lucy Baldwin Michaud (died 1931), a widowed school teacher from Nadeau, Menominee, Michigan. She was a stern & loving mother.
