Margie V. Cretens Resided in Kipling, MIDied July 22, 2013 Kipling, MIMargie Viola Cretens, age 89, passed away Monday afternoon, July 22, 2013, at her home in Kipling, surrounded by her loving family.Margie was born September 13, 1923, in Kipling, the daughter of George and Agnes (Poliquin) Rivers. She was raised in Kipling and attended the Kipling and Gladstone schools. On November 21, 1940, Margie was united in marriage to Charles E. Cretens and together the couple made their home, raised their family and spent their entire lives in Kipling. Charles preceded Margie in death on January 7, 1999. Margie was a member of the All Saints Church in Gladstone, as well as, the Gladstone Senior Center. She enjoyed traveling, quilting and baking.Survivors include:Son: Charles (Marlene) CretensDaughters: Susan E. CretensCarolyn M. (Donnie) CorneliaSister: Mary OliveGrandchildren: Michael Cowen, Sara (Nick) Chernick, Jamie (Chris Kidd) King,and Lindsay (Dan) VanBrocklinGreat Grandchildren: Matthew, Mara, Maddie, Maksim, Deriyan, Toni, Charleeand ErynnAlso surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.In addition to her parents, George and Agnes, and her husband Charles, Margie was preceded in death by:Son: Michael on August 26, 1967Brothers: Dan, Louis and GeorgeSister: RoseFuneral services for Margie will be held at the convenience of the Cretens family. Margie will be laid to rest in the Fernwood Cemetery in Gladstone. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Cretens family with arrangements.
