Adele Celeste BURNTON
(1912 - 24 Sep 1934)
Adele was a brilliant and promising young woman, who had just completed her masters degree in psychology from the University of Wisconsin. She secretly married Harold Kotvis in Waukegan on January 20 of 1934. They had known each other since they were both undergraduates at Ripon College. On September 24, 1934, Harold shot his sleeping wife through the head and killed her. He then took his own life.
