Emma M. Raboin
DAGGETT -- Emma A. Raboin, 64, of Daggett went home to be with her Lord on Monday June 4, 2001 at the home of her daughter in Kirkland, IL. Emma was born April 14, 1937 to the late Ellen (Simons) and Arno Dorow in Marquette, MI.
She graduated from Northern Michigan University in 1957 with a Home Economics Degree. In December of 1958 Emma married George Raboin, he preceded her in death August 9, 1998. In her teaching career she taught in Stephenson, Carney, Ontonagon, Gladstone, and Menominee Schools. Then in 1988 she became the Director of the Neighborhood Family Center in Stephenson. Emma was an active member of the Carney Evangelical Free Church.
Emma is survived by four daughters, Linda (Tim) Parthie of Marinette, Penny (David) Damiani of Kirkland IL, Sandy (Jay) Rud of Sandwich IL, and Kathleen (Mark) Grzelak of Forest Park IL. Ten grandchildren, Andrea, Robby, Tiffany, Tasha, Tanya, Jackson, Dustin, Logan, Christopher, and Megan and one great grandson. Two sisters, Mary Dombrowski of Daggett, and Betty Gustafson of Marquette. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold Murphy, Edward and William Dorow.
Visitation will be Thursday June 7, 2001 after 4PM at the Anderson Diehm Funeral Home Stephenson. Funeral service will be Friday at 11AM at the Carney Evangelical Free Church Carney. Emma will lie in state from 10AM until service time. Reverend Rich Blum officiating. Burial will be in the Carney Free Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial funds for DeKalb County Hospice, Carney Free Church, and Neighborhood Family Center have been est.
