Enumerated with this family were Fred LeMieux, age 32, a laborer in a hatchery; his wife, Anna, age 35; and children: John, age 11; Francis, age 8; and James, age 5.http://interactive.ancestry.com/6224/4547870_00886?backurl=http%3a%2f%2fsearch.ancestry.com%2fsearch%2fdb.aspx%3fdbid%3d6224%26path%3d&ssrc=&backlabel=ReturnBrowsing#?imageId=4547870_00903
Census (family)
Enumerated with this family were Fred J. Le Mieux, age 42, the manager of a hatchery; his wife, Anna, age 43; and sons: James, age 16; and Francis, age 19.This family was recorded twice on the 1940 Census -- once in Green Bay and once in the Town of West Bend. In both places, Fred was working as a manager of a hatchery. Perhaps the were opening a new facility in West Bend, and he lived there temporarily while setting it up. In any case, they were enumerated in both places, and the family address in Green Bay was the same house where they would be living into the 1950s.

Residence (family)
Fred worked for LaPlant HatcheryResidence
This Directory entry reports that Anna was the widow of Fred. However, there is very strong evidence that Fred actually died in Florida in 1976! Were there two separate Freds? Anna's address in the 1953 directory was the same as that in the 1951 directory, which shows her living with Fred, who was working for LaPlant Hatchery. This suggests that it was indeed the same Fred, who had been working for some years for hatcheries, both in Green Bay and in West Bend. On the other hand, the death records for Fred J. LeMieux in Florida in 1976 both give his exact birthdate, and indicate that the given Fred LeMieux was from Wisconsin. The evidence suggests that this 1953 City Directory was wrong -- Fred was not dead, and Anna was not a widow. Perhaps they were separated, and that's how she chose to report it.Residence
